What’s a Throw Down you ask? It’s an all day event where studio potters and visiting potters create bowls that are donated to Empty Bowls, an organization that sponsors fund raisers using pottery bowls. Here are the details:
Saturday November 7, 10 AM to 4 PM
In partnership with Fire on the Greenway, 2845 Harriet Avenue South
Experienced ceramic artists come join the fun! Fire on the Greenway is providing the space, wheels, and clay for this single day throw-down, the goal is to make 120 bowls Kingfield Empty Bowls, a single day fundraiser held in February that benefits Nicollet Square! Nicollet Square is located at 37th and Nicollet and provides stable and affordable housing to 42 formerly homeless youth!
Ceramic artists, to reserve a wheel for a throwing shift on November 7 contact Jon Loer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Aspiring ceramic artists can join in the fun too; come Paint-a-Bowl for Empty Bowls! Glaze an already fired bowl for the Kingfield Empty Bowls event, chat with Fire on the Greenway artists about their work while watching them throw, and browse their completed work as they get ready for their annual holiday sale coming December 4-5!
